The International Remote Sensing School for Hydrological Applications is organized by the H-SAF project, hosted by Italian Civil Protection and Italian Air Force National Meteorological and Climatological Service, and sponsored by EUMETSAT.

Objectives: presentation of the main characteristics and possible applications of the satellite-based precipitation, soil moisture and snow products generated by H-SAF for hydrological risk management. The course will consist of lectures and laboratory sessions on a proper utilization of the H-SAF products in an operational environment. At the end of the course, each participant shall have access to the products and can become Beta-user of the project. English is the official language of the school.

Students qualification needed

Participants must have an academic degree in either Meteorology, Physics, Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering. Candidates will be selected on the basis of their curriculum vitae.

No registration fee is requested

In order to promote the course, a contribution to travel expenses, living expenses and meal costs will be granted by EUMETSAT for a limited number of participants coming from countries non EUMETSAT member: Belarus, Ukraine, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Israel, Palestine, Jordan, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt.
